I’m Lisa Reeve. Wordstation is a place for me to talk about communication, information design, and e-learning.
I teach two subjects at Swinburne University of Technology, as part of the Graduate Diploma of Social Science (Technical Communications). My subjects are Effective Communication and Information Design and Delivery. It’s great to teach these subjects because I’m passionate about this area and am always learning more. Perhaps I learn more from my students than they learn from me.
I have worked as a technical and business communicator for over twenty years. In my first writing job, I wrote scripts for telephone competitions and quizzes. Since then I have worked on many different projects, focusing mostly on user manuals, web content and corporate communication.
My other passion is knitting. I blog about knitting over at Yarnomat, have published some original patterns and am working on more.
Sometimes on this blog I link to products or services using affiliate links. This means that if you buy something after clicking on the link, I earn a little bit of money. I will always honestly share my opinion of external products and services, including any negative aspects. I only recommend stuff that I’d use myself.
